Five Reasons Why Asus Transformer Prime is Better than Apple iPad 2

The Apple iPad, in the range iPad 1 and iPad 2, is undoubtedly a successful product and tablet for almost 2 years now. Based on sales and market shares it garnered, it really shows how it reigned the tablet market on its timeline until today.

One main reason why it stayed on top for this long it’s because the market never had a real competitor to this product. But not until now when Asus had revealed their revamped Asus Transformer tablet in the form of Transformer Prime that was announced recently.

So what makes it better than the iPad?

I highlighted top five reasons below why the Asus Transformer Prime will outshine iPad 2 on the current competition.

Asus Prime is Thinner, lighter, and prettier.

The Prime obviously inherited the looks of the Asus ultrabooks Zenbook lineup. The spiral or spun metallic finish is present to on the back of the Prime, making it more elegant compare to other tablets and will surely differentiate you from being common. Blend with its unique industrial design is its sleekness that shows it is thinner and lighter than iPad 2.

The 8MP camera with LED is always better than 0.7MP camera.

Apple made a big decision of cutting the cost of their tablet by picking a 0.7MP camera sensor rather putting a 3.2MP or 5MP on it and worse is that it lacks a LED flash and video light. While on the Asus Transformer Prime, the camera is really useful even it is on tablet. Why? Because taking snaps shots of notes would be easier, just one of the many things you could do with its camera.

On video mode, the prime captures 1080p or full HD and again it’s really a pleasure of taking your Full HD videos on your tablet and watching directly on it. So sweet!

Hybrid in the form of Ultrabook.

The Prime together with its keyboard dock forms an incredibly thin notebook and on par on the current Ultrabooks in the market. It’s really a unique industrial design that Asus have come up even on their first tablet, Asus Transformer. What’s cooler is that it gives extra battery life, card reader support, and usb port twhen you mount your Prime tablet on it. This thing is still missing on the iPad 1 to iPad 2.

Expandable memory.

Another advantage of the Asus Prime compare to iPad is having the extra microSD slot and card reader on the keyboard. With these features it give more freedom and works efficiency to users by easily transferring files on it and as well as upgrading the memory.

Powerful and smarter.

Asus Prime has got the latest quad core CPU from Nvidia, and it’s really one of the interesting mark in the timeline of the tablet race. Tablets are just getting more powerful and smarter.

So what makes it better than iPad 2? Expect PC games alike that can be played right on your tablet. How cool! This really makes the Prime more capable on gaming, multimedia handling, and computer works especially it has a better multitasking compare to iOS. And Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade is just few weeks ahead. :)

Bottom line.

No doubts that Apple has a better ecosystem compare to Android especially in terms of the quality and quantity of tablet apps that you could find on their App store. But clearly, Android is catching up on this race especially when the Ice Cream Sandwich have emerged lately. The boost on many features that Ice Cream Sandwich brings will really help the Android tablets to gain some advantages over their competitors. What’s more is that being an open source system makes customization present on it.

So, indeed, the Prime has the nifty features that makes it better against iPad 2. But these are still based on personal preferences and the decision will still be in you.

Overall, did you agree with all these five points too? If not which one do you think is right and wrong?
