The MeeGo music player on Nokia N9 is a sweet software feature on the device. It has an intuitive interface and works very fluid. But the lack of the music equalizer might be a reason for some users to find an alternative for it.
Thankfully, we got some Qt geniuses that had already done the work on producing one alternative Music Player for MeeGo and that’s your Sigma Player.
Sigma Player simply works as a music player that is a packed with eight (8) equalizer presets preloaded into it. You can also set or tweak each presets’ band frequency ranging from of 30Hz to 16KHz. There are two dedicated control keys for repeat and shuffle play and a two-tap shortcut button for adding playing tracks to your playlist. Unfortunately I didn’t find the playlist feature working as I cannot see added tracks on it nor I can play it.
There are two themes included on the player, the Sigma Player and the Plasma. First one is gives a half-carousel view at the main dashboard while the second offers lists type view. Music is sorted through albums, all Tracks, genres, artists, playlist, and folders. You can also view the Album and Artists section through path (Cover flow style) and list.
